The Cayman Islands Fire Service reported that a fire which started at the George Town landfill yesterday, Tuesday 19 December, on or about 8:00 p.m. was extinguished last night.

A crew from the Fire Service was at the scene throughout the night to monitor the situation. Further assessment this morning confirmed that that there is no sign of smoke or fire and the crew have been stood down.
