Members of the public are advised that the Public Works Department (PWD) and the National Roads Authority (NRA) will carry out their annual hurricane preparedness exercise on Thursday May 2, 2013.

As part of the exercise PWD and the NRA will shutter and inspect over 100 Government complexes and buildings on Grand Cayman, including 16 hurricane shelters.

In advance of hurricane season PWD and the NRA remind the public to prepare their own homes by planning what materials will be used to cover glass windows and doors, where these materials will be obtained and how they will be installed, as well as whether their homes would be the safest place to shelter in a storm.
