HURRICANE KIKO CONTINUES TO STRENGTHEN AS IT HEADS WESTWARD

SYNOPSIS

Light winds and slight seas are expected over the Cayman area for the next 24 hours due to a weak pressure gradient across northwest Caribbean. Radar images show isolated showers around the Cayman area moving towards the northwest. The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical Storm Humberto which at 4 a.m. was located near 28.3N 77.7 W or about 135 miles NNW of Great Abaco Island in the Bahamas. TS Humberto is moving north northwest at 7 mph with maximum sustained winds of 60 mph. THIS STORM POSES NO THREAT TO THE CAYMAN ISLANDS.
