Arrested and Charged
A 46 year old male resident of Bodden Town was arrested on Friday 3 April 2015 by RCIPS officers following a report of an aggravated burglary in Beach Bay, Bodden Town. The incident occurred around 4:30am, Friday 3 April 2015 at a residential home occupied by a female and her son. The complainant reported hearing glass breaking and on checking, found a male at her bedroom door.
The accused male, armed with a knife attempted to assault the female. After leaving the premises the female complainant reported the matter to police and identified the intruder. He was subsequently arrested and charged for aggravated burglary.
He appears in court today.
A 34 year of old male resident of George Tow was charged for possession of an unlicensed firearm and wounding, following a shooting incident on School House Road and McField’s Lane, George Town in the early hours of Saturday 28 March 2015.
Three female received gunshot wounds, and were treated at the George Town Hospital. They have all been released from hospital.
The accused appears in court today.
Update Collision – West Bay Road
The 16 year old male pedestrian, struck outside the Marriott Resort, West Bay Road, around 9:00pm Monday 6 April 2015, remains hospitalized in critical condition at the George Town Hospital. The pedestrian was struck by a van while crossing the road.
A 67 year old male driver and resident was arrested by RCIPS officers for dangerous driving.
He remains in custody.

At approximately 9:00 pm last night, a 16- year-old male tourist was crossing the road near the Marriott Hotel, West Bay Road when he was struck by a Suzuki mini-van. The young boy remains in serious condition at the George Town Hospital. The Suzuki van was driven on the West Bay Road towards West Bay direction by a fifty-six-year-old male, and he was accompanied by a female passenger.
The driver of the mini-van was arrested for the offence of dangerous driving.
A section of the road near the Marriott Hotel has been closed off as police investigation continues. Motorists are asked to avoid that area and take an alternative route.
