2014 FIFA World Cup at Camana Bay and Games Schedule
Camana Bay, Grand Cayman (Tuesday 10 June 2014): More than 120 nationalities live and work in the Cayman Islands, ensuring the presence of fans of all 32 of the countries participating in the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™. As 12 June nears and anticipation builds, Camana Bay is ready for the fever pitch. For the month- long event, the town will be transformed with a football focus complete with pennant flags representing the32 participating teams. The excitement will include events and activities for football enthusiasts of all ages.
KARoo, with its popular terrace overlooking The Crescent Fountains and Camana Bay Harbour, is an official Budweiser FIFA World Cup Headquarters. KARoo will be open daily from 11am to midnight or later, showing every match live and will host the WestStar World Cup Launch Party on Saturday 14 June. Visitors to Camana Bay can also catch up on World Cup matches at Abacus, Ortanique and The Waterfront. Style-minded fans can show their team spirit in official Hugo Boss FIFA World Cup apparel, available at NKY Menswear while football enthusiasts can take photos with Camana Bay’s specially created public art installation celebrating “The beautiful game.”
On the weekends, action will intensify with a host of football activities on “Soccer Saturdays” from 14 June to 12 July on The Crescent:
A Junior Skills Challenge from 10am to 1pm with a mix of friendly competitions and fun play — including country-themed arts and crafts — offers fun for children ages 4-12. Young players will shoot, juggle and dribble with the Cayman Islands Football Association National Youth Squad for a chance to win small prizes while parents watch the matches nearby.
A face painter will decorate kids (and enthusiastic adults) with the colours and flags of their favourite team from 10am to 1pm.
Camana Bay adds a night of football themed movies, “Footie Flicks” to its popular Moonlight & Movies series at 7pm:

21 June | Kicking & Screaming (2005 – PG) – Family man Phil Weston, a lifelong victim of his father’s competitive nature, takes on the coaching duties of a kids’ soccer team.
28 June | United (2011 – UR) – The true story of Manchester United’s legendary “Busby Babes”, the youngest side ever to win the Football League, and the 1958 Munich Air Crash that claimed eight of their team.
5 July | Escape to Victory (1981 – PG) – As allied POWs prepare for a soccer game against the German National Team to be played in Nazi-occupied Paris, the French Resistance and British officers are making plans for the team’s escape.
12 July | Pelada (2010 – UR) – Away from the bright lights and manicured fields, there’s another side of soccer. Two former soccer players tour the world to see the game played by regular people.
