2024 Santa for Seniors Gift Drive Launched

This holiday season, Meals on Wheels Cayman Islands is calling on the community to spread love and joy to its 350 clients through the Santa for Seniors gift drive running now through 22 December 2024. For many seniors, the holidays are a time of solitude, often without even a small gift or festive meal to brighten their days. Meals on Wheels is determined to ensure that no senior feels forgotten this Christmas.

“Our seniors deserve to feel the joy of the season and to know they are valued,” said Jennifer L. West, CEO of Meals on Wheels. “With your support, we can make this holiday one to remember for those who need it most.”

How to Get Involved:

1. Buy a Gift – Choose from the Seniors’ Christmas Wish List and drop off your gift at the designated locations. Please include a tag with your name and gift details.

2. Donate Online – Visit www.pledgeasenior.com. Select “Donate what you can” and note “Santa for Seniors”.

3. Direct Deposit – Contribute to “Cayman Islands Meals on Wheels” via Butterfield Bank KYD account #1361609770021 and note “Santa for Seniors”.

4. Gift Cards – Drop off a gift card, and Meals on Wheels will shop on your behalf. Drop-Off Locations and Dates:

● Westin Lobby: Now through 22 December

● Foster’s (Airport): 7 and 14 December

● Cost U Less: 21 December

“We want to thank our long-time supporters like The Westin, Foster’s, and Cost U Less who allow us to host donation collections annually. While people are busy getting ready for their own holiday celebrations, staff and volunteers are readily available at these convenient locations for people to donate to Santa for Seniors” said Ms. West.

This year, JUNK Recycling has generously partnered with Meals on Wheels, allowing gifts to be dropped off by 14 December at designated collection points throughout the Grand Cayman, making it easier than ever for people across the island to participate.

“Our partnership with Meals On Wheels makes the drive even more accessible,” expressed Mr. Andrew Bodden, General Manager of JUNK. “Now everyone, no matter where they live, can take part in spreading holiday cheer to our seniors. We’re grateful for their support in making this a truly island-wide effort,” he added.

Designated JUNK Drop-Off Locations (donate by 14 December):

● Beach Bubbles, Bodden Town

● Cayman Turtle Centre, West Bay

● Morritts Tortuga, East End

● Off The Peg, Seven Mile Shops

● Optical Outlook, George Town and West Bay

“This is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community and show our seniors how much they are loved and appreciated,” said Ms. West.
