GILMA BECOMES A MAJOR HURRICANE OVER THE OPEN WATERS OF THE EAST PACIFIC

SYNOPSIS

Dust from the Saharan air layer over the northwest Caribbean will begin to decrease throughout the day. A surface trough moving over the Cayman area may bring a slight increase in showers. Additionally, a weak pressure gradient across the northwest Caribbean will support light winds and slight sea across the Cayman area for the next few days.

Today:  Showers early, then partly cloudy for the afternoon. Winds ENE 10- 20 mph.

Tonight:  Mainly clear. Winds ENE 10 – 15 mph

Sea: Slight with a wave height of 1 to 3 feet.
