3 cars [2 belonging to a senior Cayman Islands police officer] on fire at Crewe Road Address, 4 Feb – UPDATES

n addition to clarify the below follow up, only 2 of the 3 vehicles that were on fire belonged to the senior police officer, the other belonged to another resident of the location. The fire also caused damage to a nearby building which was also extinguished by the fire officer.

Further to the below, the RCIPS can inform that this arson occurred on vehicles belonging to a senior officer with the RCIPS. This is a troubling and potentially very serious incident that is under investigation by CID. No motive has yet been established and members of the public are urged to come forward with whatever information they have.

Police and other emergency services were dispatched by 9-1-1 Communication Centre just after 1AM this morning, Sunday, 4 February, to an address on Crewe Road in George Town, in the vicinity of Winfern Close, where 3 vehicles were found to be on fire. No one reported any injuries.
The fire was extinguished by the Cayman Islands Fire Service and the matter is currently under police investigations.
The RCIPS is appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or have any information about what happened.
