For the North Atlantic…Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

1. A well-defined, non-tropical low pressure system located about 1000
miles east of Bermuda is producing a large area of disorganized
showers and thunderstorms, mainly northeast through southeast of
the center. This low could gradually acquire some subtropical or
tropical characteristics by the middle of the week while it meanders
over the central Atlantic Ocean between Bermuda and the Azores.
* Formation chance through 48 hours…low…30 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days…medium…40 percent.

For the eastern North Pacific…east of 140 degrees west longitude:

1. A small and nearly stationary low pressure system located a couple
of hundred miles south of the coast of Guatemala is producing
disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Development, if any, of
this system should be slow to occur while it moves westward to
west-northwestward during the next several days.
* Formation chance through 48 hours…low…10 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days…low…20 percent.

Synopsis

Moderate northeasterly winds and seas will continue across the Cayman area for the next 24 hours in association with a high pressure system over the Gulf of Mexico. Weather chart also show a weak cold front east of our area which will become stationary later today. Radar images show scattered showers to the southwest of Grand Cayman and over the sister islands moving southwest.
