Kiwanibike 2-17-2013 026The Kiwanis Club of Grand Cayman is proud to once again host their annual bike-a-thon, KiwaniBike – now in its 32nd year. This Sunday, 16 February 2014 some 150+ riders will participate in the challenging ride from the Blow Holes in East End to Smith Cove in George Town.

Past President, Secretary and KiwaniBike Chairperson Monique Bush said, “We’re thrilled to be able to host KiwaniBike for its 32nd year. The 20 Mile bike ride, is a major fundraiser for our club with funds raised this year going to our Key Clubs and Builders Clubs which create young leaders in our schools.”

On Sunday, 16 February riders should head to Smith Cove between 5:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. and hand in their bikes which will be transported to the Blow Holes courtesy of Lemmie’s Trucking. Riders may then take a bus up to the Blow Holes in East End, courtesy of Majestic Tours. At 7:00 a.m. the cycle back to the finish at Smith Cove kicks off.

Event pre-registration is being offered this Saturday, 15 February at Foster’s the Strand from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Riders are welcome to come down to hand in pledges and collect their event t-shirts. Pledges of $30 or more will receive a t-Shirt, post-event refreshments and entry into a prize draw. Pledges of $150 or more will be entered to win a gift certificate from Uncle Bills for the value of a new bike!

“This event wouldn’t be possible without the riders and sponsors. We thank our riders – the new comers, the cycling enthusiasts and those who support us each and every year and also Island Heritage for their generous support” added Monique Bush.
