34th Annual Cayman Islands KiwaniBike
Lemmie’s Trucking and Majestic Tours assisted on the morning, transporting cyclists and their bikes from the finish – where many left their cars – up to the Blow Holes where the ride began.
Event Chairperson Monique Bush said, “We were pleased with the turnout at this year’s event and with the positive feedback received from cyclists. Thanks to sponsors and the diligent fundraising of many of our cyclists, the event raised close to $7K – which will go toward sending local youth from our five Key Clubs to International Convention.”
With pledges of $25 or more, cyclists received a t-shirt, refreshments and entry into a raffle prize draw. Pledges of $100 or more though were entered to win a new bike from Uncle Bills. David Cooke raised the most funds, $439, but Claris Ruwende was the lucky winner of the new bike.
“This event wouldn’t be possible without the support of our sponsors and the enthusiasm of everyone participating – from our cyclists, to volunteers. I want to say a big thank you to them – those new to the event and those who support us every year. Also to our sponsors Butterfield, Dart, Deutsche Bank, Walkers, Citco and BAF Insurance, thanks for their generosity” added Monique Bush.
