Four Arrests and Significant Quantities of Ganja Seized in Two Joint Police/Customs Operations Yesterday, 22 May

Yesterday, Monday, 22 May, officers with the RCIPS Drugs and Serious Crime Task Force and Customs Enforcement Unit executed two joint operations, made four arrests, and confiscated a significant quantity of ganja.

Around 5AM officers conducted the first joint operation at an address on Watershed Circle in Savannah.  During a search of the premises quantities of ganja were found throughout the property and seized. Two woman, both aged 30, of Bodden Town, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply and taken into custody.  A man, aged 33 of Savannah, was also arrested at another location on the same offence.  All are currently in police custody.

Around 12PM officers conducted the second joint operation at a residence on Marina Drive in George Town.  During that operation significant quantities of ganja were seized.  One man at the residence, age 45 from Jamaica, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent as well as illegal landing.  A second man at the residence violently resisted arrest, assaulted a customs officer and a detective, and escaped. Police are continuing their search for this man today.
