7 Year Old Missing and Found
From RCIPS Mon, Mar 3, 2014 at 3:58 PM
Today [Mon Mar 3], just before 2:00 pm a husband and wife were walking on Tikki Beach, 7-Mile Beach heading north with three of their children. When they returned to Tikki Beach, they realized that their 7-year-old daughter was missing; she was wearing a Tikki-Beach band on her hand. They went back in the direction where they returned from, but they did not find their daughter. The Police was notified who coordinated a search and rescue involving personnel from the RCIPS Marine Unit, the Fire Service, Port Authority, EMS and Life-guards from Tikki Beach. The police personnel asked a DJ at Calico Jack’s at the Sea Grape Beach to repeatedly announce the missing girl over the PA to people on the Beach and gave her description. The police personnel walked the Beach and announced the missing girl’s description to people on the Beach and nearby hotels.
Just after 3:00 pm, police personnel received a call from a guest at Grand Cayman Beach Suites (former Hyatt) who notified them that a young girl fitting the description was at that beach. The RCIPS personnel took the parents to the area, and they identified the young girl as theirs. She was united with her parents in good health. The family are passengers off of the Disney Fantasy, which is in port today.
The RCIPS would like to thank the Fire Service, Port Authority, EMS, the Tikki Beach’s Lifer Guards and all others who helped in the successful rescue of the young girl.
