In a poll executed by Newsmax, a conservative American news media organization founded by Christopher W. Ruddy and based in West Palm Beach, Florida, it shows to date (Wed Jan 23 2013) 77% of Americans would not be in favour of Congress banning semi-automatic weapons.

72% of Americans do not think the federal government should regulate guns of any type, 80% believe President Obama should not ban or strictly control the sale of semi-automatic weapons and 81% agree that the Second Amendment gives citizens the right to own and bear guns without infringement.

The poll asked the question “Should Obama’s gun ban be approved?
