Intertrust Logo Design Contest WinnersKids logo design contest winners awarded

GEORGE TOWN, Grand Cayman, 24 February 2014 – On Friday, 21 February, Intertrust Cayman held an awards presentation for participants in their Kids Logo Design Contest.

The contest, which was open to the children of Intertrust Cayman employees, between the ages of 5 and 17, challenged entrants to design a logo for Intertrust Cayman’s “Green Committee” which included the committee’s mascot, the Vitelline Warbler (also known locally as “Chip Chip” or “Yellow Bird”).

The new logo will be used to create a brand identity for the committee and also bring awareness to this local bird. Children who entered received a pack, including photos and information on the Vitelline Warbler and its habitat. They were then asked to learn about the bird and design their logo based on specific criteria. Their drawings were submitted to the Green Committee for judging.

Special recognition was given to all entrants and prizes awarded to the first, second and third placed entrants. First place was awarded to Jenae Whittaker (aged 17), whose winning entry has been converted into the new graphic logo of the Green Committee. Jenae received a one year membership to the National Trust of the Cayman Islands. Second place was awarded to Ruby Pileta (aged 8) and third place to Gianna Whittaker (aged 15), who both received Camana Bay gift cards. All entrants received Intertrust branded goody bags.

As part of Intertrust’s corporate social responsibility initiative, the Green Committee’s main endeavor is to ensure that operations in Cayman run as “Greenly” as possible, with respect to reducing waste, energy and paper consumption. Another important role of the Green Committee is ensuring that Intertrust plays an active role in environmental community initiatives and since its inception, has been working to do so.
