Department of Immigration officials have intercepted 17 Cuban migrants – 16 males and one female – after their boat ran aground off Cayman Brac on Saturday night, 14 November. All appeared to be in good health.

It is anticipated that the group will be transferred to Grand Cayman this week for processing. The 19 Cuban boaters who arrived last month are still being held on Grand Cayman.
