Thief whacked with cup
An armed thief wearing a Halloween mask tried to rob a married couple in George Town. But the thief was whacked over the head by the man he tried to rob and fled empty handed.
A spokeswoman for the RCIPS said: “At approximately 11.00 pm on Wednesday a married couple were returning to their address in Palm Dale Avenue, George Town.
“As they were entering their porch area, an unknown male appeared from the yard and demanded money. The offender was wearing a long sleeve shirt, black denim pants, black gloves and a Halloween mask. He was holding what appeared to be a hand gun.
“As the offender went to search a bag, the male victim struck the offender to the head with a cup. This disorientated the offender who then fled on foot. No property was stolen and the victims were uninjured.
“Anyone with any information should contact George Town CID on 949-4222, the RCIPS tip-line 949-7777, or Crime Stoppers 800-8477 (TIPS).”
