Letter: Subjecting Caribbean children to Marxist communist influence
Dear Sir:
We now have an entire generation of Caribbean children born after the collapse of the Berlin Wall and the USSR. They didn’t live through the mass repression and carnage that was Soviet communism. They need to learn about it; they know nothing about the horrors of Cuba and how they have tried to poison the whole Caribbean with their form of communism. They know nothing about most people in Cuba currently only earning the equivalent of US$1 a day.
Cuba has worked for years to change the whole hemisphere into a Marxist-Leninist stronghold. Fortunately their early attempts brought only limited success; they managed to bring about a Marxist-Leninist communist revolution in Grenada, that eventually collapsed.
Unless we teach our children the wrongs of communist ideology, the Marxist-Leninist communist educators and a Marxist-led state education system will indoctrinate their minds.
Here is a quote from The Communist Party Education Workers Congress:
“We must create out of the younger generation a generation of Communists. We must turn children, who can be shaped like wax, into real, good Communists… We must remove the children from the crude influence of their families. We must take them over and, to speak frankly, nationalize them. From the first days of their lives they will be under the healthy influence of Communist children’s nurseries and schools. There they will grow up to be real Communists.”
And a quote by Vladimir Ilyich Lenin:
“Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.”
In St Vincent and the Grenadines where I live, I believe the children are under a particular threat of being brainwashed and indoctrinated. Our children are taught false history and given false heroes to worship. Even our new airport project carries the name of a communist murderer:’Che Guevara.
Our prime minister Ralph E. Gonsalves has what I would describe as an unhealthy closeness to Cuba, its leaders and its communist politics and policies.
Another of our close allies is Venezuela, allied by our joint membership of ALBA, a group of countries whose leaders have Marxist ideals.
Venezuela has introduced a law in 2009 called the “Organic Education Law,” meaning it has the highest legal stature under the constitution and is required by the constitution to uphold constitutional principles. Article 15 says that one of the basic purposes of education is “to develop a new political culture based on socialist protagonist participation and the strengthening of popular power, the socialization of knowledge, and the promotion of the school as a space for the formation of socialist citizenship and community participation, for the reconstruction of the public spirit.”
Basically they seek to convert the children by communist indoctrination in Venezuela. In Cuba they have the same indoctrination policies, but the children are already communists, they were born communists, into a communist society.
Communism is a cancer in society, we must ensure that our children are safe from its evils; we must ensure that their minds are not corrupted by these nasty Marxist governments in the Caribbean.
