Cayman Islands RVC Rehab Services introduces Acoustic Wave Therapy machine at CTMH
RVC Rehab Services has been creating healthy lifestyles for over 25 years through physical therapy, massage and childbirth services. Now, RVC is pleased to introduce the next generation of non-invasive therapeutic treatment to the community of the Cayman Islands, with the Miracle Wave™ Acoustic Wave Therapy (AWT) machine. This innovative machine will become a part of the RVC Physical Therapy Department at the Chrissie Tomlinson Memorial Hospital (CTMH).
The Miracle Wave™ by Advanced Musculoskeletal Therapies, LLC is a cutting-edge treatment solution, which utilizes sound waves (or acoustic pulses) to initiate a healing effect within the body to help repair, restore & rejuvenate muscle tissue with little to no side effects. Acoustic Wave Therapy (AWT) is similar to Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT) that was used to treat injuries in athletes at the 2014 World Cup.
RVC’s training for this revolutionary technology will be by Gerhard Kinas himself, company founder and inventor of the Miracle Wave™.
“There are people who suffer from injuries that would like to explore non-invasive therapeutic options,” said Jacqui Smith, Physical Therapist, Childbirth Educator and owner of RV. “To help people resume their daily lives with pain-free movement is what we strive for. We are excited to bring this technology to the physical therapy industry in the Cayman Islands.”
In addition, the personal trainers of RVC will be going to the Pines Retirement Home to work with both staff and clients there, to demonstrate simple, but effective exercises to keep the elderly fit and active.
“Movement for health is what physical therapy is all about. At RVC, our therapists help people fulfil their potential,” stated Tenson Edmonds, Physical Therapist at RVC.
Jacqui Smith further explained about World PT (Personal Training) Day 2014, “This year’s theme is ‘Fit to Take Part’. As personal trainers, we believe that individuals should be fit to participate in sports, rather than play the sport to become fit. By doing this, many injuries could possibly be avoided.”
RVC Rehab Services urges you to ask to see a physical therapist today, if you have problems that affect your mobility.
