The victim of Saturday night’s shooting can now be identified as Solomon David Webster, DOB 15th September 1989 of Miss Daisy Lane, West Bay.

A Family Liaison Officer will be appointed to support the family and an incident room has now been established at George Town Police Station.

The contact number for the incident room is 649-3057.

UPDATE:

Shooting incident West Bay

Police can now confirm that the victim of the shooting incident reported on 7the September 2014 is deceased.

A murder investigation has now been launched into the death. The circumstances of the attack is still being investigated, however the RCIPS is following a direct line of enquiry and is requesting that anyone who was in the area at the time of the shooting, or has any information in urged to contact West Bay Police Station, the RCIPS tip-line at 949-7777 or Crime Stoppers at 800-8477 (TIPS).

We understand the shooting occurred off Miss Daisy Lane (Logwoods area). CITN/Cayman27 reported the victim was treated in the parking lot of the West Bay Clinic before being transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital in George Town,

Police are presently on the scene of a suspected shooting in West Bay, incident was reported approximately 8:30pm. One male reported injured at this time, however extent of injury is unknown. Further details to follow as investigation progresses.
