Male arrested Coconut Joe’s robbery

At 8:45pm Monday 20th October 2014, a 34 year old male from the district of George Town was arrested by RCIPS officers as a person of interest for the robbery which occurred at Coconut Joe’s Restaurant last Thursday, 16th October 2014.
The accused remains in custody and is one of two persons sought and allegedly responsible in that robbery. A 27 year old male from the district of George Town remains in custody, after being arrested on Sunday 19th October 2014 after police received a report of attempt robbery. He has been formally charged this evening for carrying an offensive weapon and causing fear and provocation with threats of violence.
The accused is scheduled to appear in summary court tomorrow Tuesday 21st October 2014.

The RCIPS is currently investigating a report of an Attempted Robbery which took place on Shedden Road on Sunday 19th October 2014 about 0203 hrs.
This incident occurred when three individuals were attending a social event and was approached by a male armed with a machete who attempted to rob one of the individuals in the group.
The police attended the scene after being called and as a result a 27 year old George Town man was arrested on suspicion of attempt robbery and in presently in police custody assisting with the investigation.
No one was injured during the course of the offence, however the male victim suffered a heart attack shortly afterwards and was transported to George Town Hospital; he was later taken to Health City and is presently admitted in stable condition.
