This year’s Pirates Week – the National festival of the Cayman Islands – running from 6 November to 16 November, promises another eleven fun-filled days of music, street dancing, culinary delights and pirate attractions for Caymanians and visitors alike.

Now a firm fixture in the Cayman calendar, the national festival will kick-off on the Friday with a steel pan competition and launch party, including spectacular fireworks display. The opening ceremony will also see the crowning of the Festival Queen and the launch of the Street Dance and Food Festival.

The renowned mock pirate invasion will take place on the first Saturday with the surprise landing of two historic sailing vessels and the capturing of the Governor at George Town harbor.
