Welcome back to the month of MOvember, the month where men can proudly grow a moustache, all in the name of creating awareness and raising money for men’s health. All proceeds raised from Movember Cayman are donated to the Cayman Islands Cancer Society.

It’s our tenth anniversary this year too. Ten years! It’s funny how a small conversation over a couple of beers can grow into something that can do so much good and raise so much money to help others! That’s about 2000 (+/- the odd whisker) moustaches which have been especially grown right here in the Cayman Islands simply to raise awareness about men’s health. MO-bros we salute you! We hope this year is going to be bigger and better than ever.

What is MOvember?

GrouchoMOvember (the month formerly known as November) is an annual charity event held during November with the aim of creating awareness and raising money for men’s health issues such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health.

Guys in the Cayman Islands pay a registration fee, which gets them a specially designed (and much sought after) MO T-shirt, and the opportunity to compete for the coveted prize of CAY-MAN of MOVEMBER. On the 1st of Movember, contestants start clean-shaven, and have the month to grow their MO. To raise money for the cause they approach family, friends and co-workers who pledge to sponsor them some cash for growing their ‘tache. MO Sistas can also show their support by buying a T-shirt – we have special ladies sizes too (aren’t we caring!)

At the end of the month we have the MOsquerade ball, where contestants come dressed up to compliment their MO and compete to win prizes in different categories. After a ‘tash-tastic month of growing its great to celebrate with our fellow MO Bros and friends. MO Bros bring all the money they have raised for the month, for collection and counting on the night.

The MOsquerade Ball 2014

This is the BIG FINALE for all things moustachioed here in Cayman… where you can amaze your friends with your finely groomed moustache, and blow them away with the funds you have raised to support Men’s Health initiatives.

As its our 10th anniversary this year it is going to be the best MOsquerade Ball ever. It’s going to be MO’numental! Some might even say…. #EPIC!

Who will become the MAN of MOVEMBER 2014 and walk away with the coveted Golden Comb? The categories this year are TRUCKER, MAGNUM P.I., BARELY MO, COSTUME MO (this is the freestyle category) and MO SISTER. It’s your chance to judge and be judged.   We even have the beautiful contestants for Miss Cayman 2015 to help us hand out those prestigious awards!

You’ve grown the ‘MO, now bring your MO’NEY! – Bring your hard earned sponsorship money. Checks are best, but we can handle credit cards (not AMEX) too. We can do cash as well.

Who will win the prestigious CORPORATE TROPHY? It’s all about the total money raised by each company so get some more sponsors to secure that top spot…
