Two of Ogier’s Caymanian trainee lawyers are called to the Bar
Two of Ogier’s Caymanian trainee lawyers, Cline Glidden Jr. and Nicosia Lawson, have been called to the bar. Both have been offered positions at Ogier, Mr Glidden in the local practice team and Ms Lawson in the dispute resolution team.
Congratulating both on their admission to the roll of Attorneys at Law of the Cayman Islands, Ogier’s regional managing partner James Bergstrom, said: “Ogier is proud to have fostered and grown this local talent and congratulate both candidates on this momentous achievement”.
Ogier Cayman’s articled clerks programme provides Caymanians looking to join the legal profession with comprehensive practical training, working alongside partners and associates on cases and transactions.
Mr Glidden and Ms Lawson started their Articles with Ogier in September 2013, completing seats in investment funds, banking and finance, litigation and local practice.
Prior to retraining for a career in law, Mr Glidden had a distinguished career in local politics as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in the Cayman Islands.
A graduate of the Cayman Islands High School, Mr Glidden qualified in law at the University of Liverpool and completed his Professional Practice Certificate with commendation at the Cayman Islands Law School in 2012.
Among other achievements, Ms Lawson is a founding member of the Rotaract Blue Cayman Islands, a former CARICOM Youth Ambassador for the Cayman Islands and a former Miss Cayman.
Ms Lawson graduated from the University of Ottawa, Canada before studying the Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the BPP Law School in London.
