Want underwater photo tips from dive legend Marty Snyderman? Stop by My Bar at Sunset House next week and ask him
Marty Snyderman, on Grand Cayman March 21 – 25 to outfit his signature room at Sunset House, will be available to offer friendly, professional photo tips at My Bar on several evenings throughout the week. All that you have to do is stop by to say “Hello,” and bring your list of questions. You can also get a FREE trial download of Vivid-Pix Picture-Fix, a fast and easy photo editing software specifically designed for underwater photos. Company founder Rick Voight will personally show you how to use the software to improve underwater photos, and he will also help you share them online with family and friends back home.
Whether you are a pro or an amateur, if you love underwater photography, this is a perfect time to mingle with two of the best in the business – Marty Snyderman and Cayman’s own Cathy Church, owner of Cathy Church’s Photo Centre, who will also participate. Dive Training Magazine is also a sponsor of the week’s events. To make a night of it, Sunset House offers a daily Happy Hour that runs from 6:00-8:00 so you can party with a purpose. Drawings will be held to give away a series of autographed 
prints of Marty Snyderman’s marine wildlife photos. The proceeds will be donated to the Cayman Magic Reef Recovery effort.
From My Bar, Rick Voight will host a virtual community of divers as they share the Cayman experience on Facebook at www.facebook.com/vivid-pix-fix. He and Snyderman invite all local divers and friends to come out, share a drink, and see what is happening in underwater photography.
“Divers are a world-wide community, and more and more people are getting involved in underwater photography because of how easy it has become,” states Voight. “We’re here to be a part of this community, to have fun sharing these pictures and to help worthwhile causes like the Cayman Magic Reef Recovery.”
Snyderman and Voight will arrive with hammers in hand to create the latest Signature Room at Sunset House. Sunset House General Manager Keith Sahm says it will be a celebratory week with a serious message. “The idea behind our signature room campaign is to promote the beauty of the ocean as seen through the eyes of professional and passionate underwater photographers to encourage those who see the photos to act to save this fragile marine environment.”
The informal photo sessions will be taking place on several evenings throughout the week from 6 – 8 pm at My Bar.

This seems to be the only way to comment on your “Notoriety” article in the Feb. 2016 issue of DT magazine. Oh, Marty, I know you would do anything to promote diving, learning about sealife and more. It has been my passion since certification in 1976. I have come across some of the people/instructors you mentioned and, based on my interactions with them do not consider them worthy of you admiration. E.g., Erin O’neill walking up to me, a complete stranger resting between dives at Pt. Dume, asking if I had a spare weight belt to lend her. She and her buddy Morgan were conducting what appeared to be an rudimentary SCUBA class. When I became a Los Angeles County Scuba Instructor in 1981(UICC 29), I learned to be PREPARED. She ,et al, were not. My experiences in the Caribbean exposed me to other yahoos in the industry(including Ron Kipp, my favorite example since an article written about him conducting his first class at Georgetown pointed out how he did not know where he was leading his class on a particular dive. There is more about his ethics I experienced first hand). I could go on to others, braggarts in every sense of the word, with no substance. The truly majestic figures formed this sporting activity, among them Glen Egstrom, Jon Hardy, the founders of Scubapro, Dave Woodard, Don Morrison, Uncle Jacque and his crew, and too many more to publish here. Oh, and you with your wonderful articles about your diving experiences. THANK YOU.
