DAT&T wins the Cayman Islands Colour Me Purple 5K ministry
Whoo Hoo! Pats on backs and well-deserved rounds of applause to the Ministry of District Administration, Tourism & Transport team, led by Chief Officer Stran Bodden, for participating in the COLOUR ME PURPLE 5K Run/Walk and Winning the top prize for having the most the participants of any Ministry.
In supporting this event, the Ministry of DAT&T team helped to raise much needed funds that will be used by the Family Resource Centre to provide programmes for women and children across the Cayman Islands. In total, the Ministry’s team comprised 14 members and they have won a Free Lunch and Learn Session courtesy of the Family Resource Centre, on a subject of their choice.
From the get-go the Ministry team got into the spirit of the event by being colour bombed with purple powder while running / walking from Smith Cove to the Avenue and back. But as mucky and messy as some of them were in purple powder, they cleaned up when it came to the random prizes. A staggering 4 members from the team won gift certificates from various local businesses. Congrats to the lucky winners and a BIG thank you to the prize sponsors for your generosity!
Congrats also goes to Ventisha Conolly, for winning the ‘most purple’ competition, clad in decorative butterfly wings, a tutu and a variety of beads and pom poms kindly sponsored by the Ministry’s social club.
Chief Officer Bodden thanked everyone in his Ministry who supported this fun-filled event by participating or donating to the cause and said “I was very happy to see the outpouring of support from the community and it was evident that a great time was had by all. I applaud the FRC for organizing such a wonderful activity and we look forward to defending our title at next year’s event!”
