Just in time for the season the Sunrise Adult Training Centre has received a brand new bus that enables it to transport clients with ease and convenience on the Cayman roads.

On Friday, 16 December 2011 the new Sunrise Director Ms Shari Smith was at the Department of Vehicle and Drivers’ Licensing (DVDL) to receive the keys to a brand new custom-made bus for the Sunrise Centre. Mr. John Felder of Cayman Automotive was on hand to pass over the keys.

The new Ford 550 Super Duty Bus is fitted out to suit the needs of Sunrise’s users. The new bus will be able to accommodate 10 clients using wheelchairs or seat 22 persons. The bus also features an automated wheelchair lift on the rear and left entrance for easy access in and out of the vehicle.

Mr. Felder of Cayman Automotive stated, “Providing the right bus to fit the needs and safety of the Sunrise Centre and their precious clients was my key objective, and this new custom built bus filled those needs perfectly. Thank you for giving Cayman Automotive an opportunity to earn your business, and we believe that we have now established a relationship that will last forever.”

Ms Shari Smith of the Sunrise Centre said, “The arrival of this new specially-fitted bus comes at a most opportune time, when the Centre looks towards improved programming and accommodations to meet the growing numbers and needs of the clients at the Sunrise Adult Training Centre.

“We are thankful to Mr. Felder, everyone at Cayman Automotive, the Ministry of Education, Training & Employment, and DVDL,” continued Ms Smith. “Of course, the previous director, Ms Roberta Gordon, is commended for her advocacy during the process of acquiring the bus and promoting its design. The clients are excited to begin travelling in the bus, as we at the Centre are pleased to offer quality and efficient transportation as a part of our services.”
