Police Patrol Interrupts Suspected Burglary on North Church Street

At about 4:50AM this morning, Friday, 28 August, an officer on patrol saw a man at the intersection of Mary and North Church Street with what appeared to be bottles in both hands. When the officer attempted to speak to the man, the man ran away and more bottles fell out from under his clothes. The man was pursued and eventually apprehended on Eastern Avenue, where he was arrested on suspicion of burglary. The liquor-licensed establishment near where the man was first seen was discovered to have the doors of its liquor cabinets and cooler opened, which had similar bottles the ones the man was carrying.

It was determined later that the man is on court bail for several matters, both criminal and traffic.
