London’s ‘sky pool’
London’s ‘sky pool’ will be the most amazing and most terrifying pool the world has ever seen

Know what would be awesome? Swimming in a glass pool that’s suspended 10 floors above the ground. Know what would be terrifying? Swimming in a glass pool that’s suspended 10 floors above the ground. That’s the basic paradox of the new “sky pool” that Mashable informs us was recently proposed to be built in London.
As you can see in the picture, the new pool will be built between two buildings and will have a completely see-through bottom that will let you look down on the street below while you’re swimming. The pool will be three meters (9.8 feet) deep and will be 25 meters long by 5 meters wide. The glass at the bottom of the pool will be just under 8 inches thick, which means that cracking it won’t be as easy as firing at it with a BB gun.
“My vision for the Sky Pool stemmed from a desire to push the boundaries in the capability of construction and engineering,” explains Ballymore Group CEO Sean Mulryan, who first came up with the idea for the pool. “The Sky Pool’s transparent structure is the result of significant advancements in technologies over the last decade. The experience of the pool will be truly unique; it will feel like floating through the air in central London.”
We have to say it looks amazing but we still can’t imagine taking a dip in it without feeling extremely nervous the whole time.
