Cayman Islands: “Voices” meets Broadway
Last weekend the Cayman Islands joined in harmony with many countries around the world to celebrate “Voices for Hospices” 2015.
World Hospice & Palliative Care Day is observed annually on the 2nd Saturday
in October, with Voices for Hospices joining in recognition bi-annually.

The aims of WH&PCD are:
To raise awareness and understanding of the needs of people living with a
life limiting illness and their families
To increase the availability of hospice and palliative care throughout the
world by creating opportunities to speak out about the issues To raise funds
to support and develop hospice and palliative care services around the world.

Under the Artistic Direction of Mrs Jackies Balls (Miss Jackie), and a production team led by Kerrie McMillan of Cayman HospiceCare, the Prospect Theatre came alive with “An Evening on Broadway,” to the sound of many familiar Broadway songs. From 42nd Street, Moulin Rouge, Chicago, South
Pacific, Les Miserables, Wicked and many more.

The cast which comprised of local talent from all walks of life delighted
packed houses with the diverse program and the audience responded in return
with tremendous applause and standing ovations on both nights.
The program was supported by the Cayman Singrays Accapella group and Miss
Jackie’s Adult Company Dancers.

Special thanks go to the management team at the Prospect Theatre for their support with this production.

All proceeds from the two night event “ An Evening on Broadway” will go towards ensuring that the specialized services of Cayman Hospice Care remain available at no cost to patients or their families living in the Cayman Islands with a terminal illness.
