Backed by a cache of private documents leaked by a whistleblower, a presentation on how Qatar bribed its way to winning the rights to host the 2022 World Cup will be held at next month’s OffshoreAlert Conference.

It will be given by Jonathan Calvert, editor of The Sunday Times newspaper’s famed ‘Insight’ investigations team and co-author of a book entitled ‘The Ugly Game: The Qatari Plot To Buy The World Cup’, which was published earlier this year.

The session is the latest in a series of OffshoreAlert Conference exposés about corruption at FIFA that began with British investigative journalist Andrew Jennings at our Miami Beach event in 2010 – five years before FIFA insiders were criminally indicted in the United States.

It demonstrates OffshoreAlert’s ability to not only attract speakers who know what’s really going on in international business but also our willingness to assume the potential substantial legal liabilities that come with giving them a public forum.

The 4th Annual OffshoreAlert Conference Europe will take place at The Grange St. Paul’s Hotel, in London, on November 23-24.
