Update on Case of Deceased Woman Found near Tiki Beach last Sunday, 8 November

Yesterday, 11 November, a post-mortem was conducted on the body of a woman found early Sunday morning, 8 November, near Tiki Beach (see first press release below). The woman, 38, was a resident of Savannah. The matter is not being treated as a suspicious death at this time. A full pathology report and toxicology results are expected. Our investigation is continuing on behalf of the Coroner.

UPDATE: The female found dead in the vicinity of Tikki Beach on West Bay Road has been identified as Cassandra Hurlston wife of John- Paul Hurlston who is the son of  former Cayman Islands Chief Secretary Lemuel Hurlston.

On Saturday 7th November 2015 around 11:15 pm the 911 communication center received a request for police assistance in locating a family member as they were concerned about her safety and well-being.

The missing female was located in the vicinity of Tikki Beach on West Bay Road and appeared unresponsive. CPR was performed at the scene. She was subsequently transported to the George Town Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The deceased is a 38 year old resident of Savannah.

The incident is under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department at the George Town Police Station who are trying to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.

Our condolences go out to her family and friends at this very difficult time.
