Clean sweep for Cayman Prep at KPMG Football Fest
By John Marc Nutt From 18th Year Seniors
The final day of the KPMG Football Fest proved to be a hotly contested day of soccer.
Cayman Prep went undefeated in pool play easily advancing to the championship game in both the boys and girls division.
In the boys division they faced off against the Lyford Cay Orange boys club winning the match up 1-0. The Lyford Cay Orange girls team squeezed their way into the finals placing second with only a point separating them from Lucayan International School from Grand Bahama.
In the girls championship, Cayman Prep came out aggressively scoring a goal in the opening five minutes of the match. The game remained scoreless until late in the second half when Cayman Prep put the game away by scoring 2 additional goals.
It is the second time that Cayman Prep participated in the event, and the first time they were able to come through with a victory.
