Cayman Islands: 18-year-old male shot in his torso in stable condition at the George Town Hospital

At about 3:31 am this morning (19/12/’15), 911 received a report of a shooting incident outside a nightclub at the 7-Mile Shops, West Bay Road. RCIPS’ personnel attended, secured the scene and started an investigation.
At about 5:42 am this morning, a police officer attended the George Town Hospital and made enquires. The officer was informed by a doctor at the Hospital that a male had attended the Hospital with a gun-shot wound to his lower torso. Further enquiries by the officer revealed that the victim is an 18-year-old male, a resident of George Town. His condition is considered stable and non-life threatening at this time.
Officers are investigating whether both incidents are connected.
