The West Bay Road is now fully cleared.
The injured male pedestrian is still admitted to the George Town Hospital with condition described as serious but not critical.
The accident is under investigation by the GT Police. Anyone having information or who may have witnessed this incident is asked to contact the GTPS at 9494222.

The police is investigating a serious MVA which occurred about 7 pm today Tuesday 29 December 2015 in the vicinity of Peppers Restaurant on West Bay Road. The southbound lane (towards GT) is closed at this time pending police inquiries at the scene and until further notice.
One male pedestrian was hit by a pickup truck and is believed to be in serious condition. Further information will be released as it becomes known.
Information confirms that the injured male pedestrian is about 68 years old (not 60 as some reports) and is a British tourist staying at a hotel on the West Bay Road.
