Three killed in Jamaica over water getting into cellphone

By Jamaica Gleaner From St Lucia News Online

The St James Police are now searching for a woman who they believe can assist them in their investigation into the murder of three men in Norwood on Wednesday afternoon.

Cook shop operator, Tyrone Hinds, Michael Holder and a man identified only as DJ Davil, who operated a sound system, were shot dead at the cook shop around 1 o’clock.

Head of the St. James Police, Senior Superintendent, Steve McGregor, says the police have contacted the woman’s family adding that they have been urged to have her surrender to the police.

It is reported that yesterday the woman went to the cook shop and a dispute developed between her and Hinds.

During the altercation, water was thrown which reportedly got into the woman’s phone.

Armed robbers assault visiting cruisers in St Lucia

From Caribbean News Now

SOUFRIERE, St Lucia — On the evening of March 3, 2016, returning from dinner, on the Hummingbird Resort/Still dock at Soufriere, St Lucia, a party of six cruisers, accompanied by the Hummingbird security guard, was robbed by multiple masked attackers at gunpoint and machete.

According to Caribbean Safety and Security Net, the security guard was knocked down.

The robbers demanded money and were given wallets. One woman’s purse was cut off her shoulder with the machete. Her husband was struck on the head with the blunt side of the machete. A gun was aimed at them.

When the group came into the dock originally, they declined the dinghy watching “service” of some teenagers. The teens were quite unhappy about it and said they would be back.

It is not known if a report was made to authorities by the Hummingbird staff.

Beatles’ George Martin dies Wed (9)

Synergy By Paul McGovern, PS Audio

We were all saddened by yesterday’s death of George Martin, known as the 5th Beatle. Martin was the first to sign the Beatles, and steered their direction.

Neither Martin nor the Fab Four seemed extraordinary on their own. It was the synergy between them that made the magic: Martin with his classical roots and orchestral stylings, the Beatles with compositions, rock and roll, and talent. Together they changed the world and defined a generation.

On the radio was an interview with Paul McCartney detailing his hit song Yesterday. He and the boys had wanted the track to be McCartney and a guitar. Martin disagreed and persuaded them to at least try an orchestral string arrangement which Martin wrote. A tough pill to swallow for rock and rollers at heart, but Martin prevailed and the rest is history.

Working together the sum exceeds the whole and it seems true in most things we do.

I can come up with a great idea for a product, but only through the synergy and collaboration of our team does that idea manifest itself into a product worth anyone’s time. If it were only me, you’d get a handful of poorly soldered parts in a cigar box.

Life’s a collaboration.
