Around 9:20pm last night, Thursday 10 March, officers responded to a report of a robbery-in-progress at the Burger King on North Church Street in George Town. Prior to the arrival of police the culprit fled the scene without taking anything.
It was reported that a man in dark clothing with his face covered entered the building with a machete and demanded money from the staff. Instead of handing over any cash the staff ran to a back office, where they locked themselves in and called for assistance. At this time the culprit ran off empty-handed.
Detectives are following up on this incident today and are asking for anyone who may have seen this person running from the building around 9:20PM to contact GTPS at 949-4222 or Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(TIPS), or to submit a tip via the link: https://www.tipsubmit.com/WebTips.aspx?AgencyID=681
