Most Gold! Lucky 13 as Red win most Gold ADDY awards in the Caribbean
The number 13 was lucky for Red advertising&marketing Ltd. as they won 13 Gold in the recently concluded American Advertising Federation 2016 ADDY Awards. Serendipitously, this was matched by the milestone of being the top agency in Barbados for a record 13 years!
Red’s 13 Gold awards, which are given to the best in category, gave the Barbadian based, regional agency the most Gold ADDYs of any Caribbean agency.
Entries came from as far afield as Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica, The U.S. Virgin Islands, The Cayman Islands & Puerto Rico.
Banks Holdings, recently bought by the drinks giant AmBev, were big winners through Red with Banks Beer and Vex Yellow Monkey winning 4 Gold and 4 Silver Awards and Frutee carbonated soft drinks also winning 4 Gold and 2 Silver ADDYs.
In telecoms, the launch of the new Flow brand post-merger also won favour with the judges winning 4 gold and 1 Silver ADDY. This was exceptional given that Barbados was the first country to launch the new brand. Other winners included Toyota, Republic Bank, Abed’s, Trident Insurance, Harris Paints and Red itself.
Jevan Jutagir, Managing Director of Red, commented on the awards,
“13 Golds for 13 years at the top! Although we narrowly missed out on the most awards this year due to a handful of Silver awards won by a couple of bigger Trini agencies, we still had more gold than any other agency. We are great friends with both these agencies but by Olympic rules we want them to know that we win! That said, the real winners are the clients and brands we represent as we are using creative cut-through to deliver messages that consumers actually want to hear! Congratulations to all the other winners, without creativity you are just wallpaper in the clutter!”
The ADDY awards is the creative award show of the American Advertising Federation (AAF) of which the Caribbean Advertising Federation (CAF) is a member. The awards are 3 tiered with local shows and awards which feed into regional shows (the CAF is part of the 4th District region which includes Florida, The Caribbean and Puerto Rico) which in turn feed into a National show.
