From RCIPS Mon, Mar 21, 2016 at 3:35 PM
Just after 9PM last night, 20 March, officers were alerted by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre of a robbery at Alfresco Restaurant near Town Hall Road in West Bay. Witnesses reported that three masked men dressed all in black robbed the restaurant as well as customers seated on the deck outside.
One man (Culprit #1) entered the restaurant wearing a mask with only eyes exposed. He was approximately 5’10 to 5’11” tall, brandished a handgun, and demanded cash from the register.
The two other robbers (Culprits #2 & #3) approached customers dining on the deck and demanded their valuables. Both were wearing black-and-white bandanas from the nose down; Culprit #2 is estimated to be about 6’2” in height.
Noticing that Culprit #2 had only a plastic bag, one male customer started to struggle with him. During the struggle the customer sustained an injury to his head and his right arm.
At this time Culprit #3 went to the door of the restaurant and called Culprit #1, who was armed. Seeing the struggle, Culprit #1 discharged his firearm in the air. Upon hearing this single gunshot, the customer who was struggling with Culprit #2 relinquished his wallet.
The three culprits then ran to Henning Lane and fled the scene in a silver car headed in the direction of West Church Street.
Officers cordoned off the scene and interviewed witnesses. The man who was assaulted was taken to George Town Hospital, treated and discharged.
