Down syndrome model

Beauty comes from the inside out, as proven through this new beauty campaign for the haircare brand, Beauty & Pin-Ups.
The company just revealed its new face, Katie Meade, a stunning 32-year old model and former Special Olympics athlete who just happens to have Down syndrome.
“Every day is a great day to feel good about yourself,” Meade said recently to People. “Feeling good makes you look good — that’s my motto.”
It comes through in these photos, where the model shows off her luscious tresses. Showcasing the brand’s Fearless Hair Rescue Treatment, she’s also, in turn, breaking down barriers as the first model with Down syndrome to star in a beauty campaign.
“As we were launching this product, in our mind it could have been the next traditional pin-up — but as soon as we came up with the name ‘Fearless’ it was really easy, we were like, ‘Well Katie’s fearless.'”the company’s CEO, Kenny Kahn, said to People.
For those interested in the product, it’s a hair masque that treats damaged and broken hair. You can find it here for $10.
