Just after 1:30AM on Tuesday morning, 29 March, fire, police and EMS were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a report of a house fire on Seaview Road in East End. No one was inside the house and no one was injured in the blaze. Fire personnel extinguished the fire, but the house sustained major damage.

The RCIPS together with fire investigators have been conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire, and have determined that the fire was an act of arson. No one has been arrested in connection with the incident and the investigation is continuing.
