Cops confiscate Caribbean coke
From Orilliapacket
Police seized about $50,000 worth of cocaine during a drug bust Wednesday in Orillia.
OPP officers executed a search warrant at a home on Walker Avenue and arrested a man and a woman who police said were in possession of a package from a Caribbean nation that contained cocaine.
Officers from the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Central Drug Enforcement Unit, Community Drug Action Team and Orillia OPP Street Crime Unit took part in the raid, with the assistance of the Canadian Border Services Agency.
The man has been charged with importation of a Schedule 1 substance (cocaine) and possession of a Schedule 1 substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking.
The woman faces the same trafficking charge.
Both are in custody and due in Barrie court Thursday for a bail hearing.
Until the matter was before the court, Orillia OPP would not release the names of the accused.

Estuarine and lagoon systems: From 00:00 hours on May 25 and until 24:00 on July 9, 2016, in the Gulf of Mexico estuarine lagoon systems from the US border, in Tamaulipas to the mouth of the Coatzacoalcos River, Veracruz.

Cayman Islands: NIKO’S FOSTER APPEAL
Niko is a sweet guy, who is in a tremendous amount of pain right now and desperately needs our help. This handsome chap has sustained an awful injury to his front leg and sadly we are faced with amputation. He is estimated to be a year old and is a neutered, friendly male. He is a medium size Cayman shepherd blend.
Niko’s surgery is scheduled for tomorrow and so we are looking for a place for him to stay where he can recover from his amputation and adapt to his disability, so we can get to know him and his personality and get him on to his happily ever after in a forever home.
Do you have space in your home and heart for this poor soul to come and crash for a while? We estimate the foster period to be approximately 2 months, while he heals, adapts and we appeal for his forever home. Food, and all necessary supplies will be provided for the duration of foster care.
He does not seem to be a fussy guy and first impressions lead us to believe he is a true “island boy” grateful for a bed some food and a little loving. He seems to get along with other dogs, He has been fine with people, even in the pain he is in, He is not very playful at the moment due to his injury but we are sure once we are on the road to recovery it will be wonderful to watch him shine once again.
If you think you can help Niko please E-mail i[email protected] or call 938 2273, we would love to hear from you. If you are unable to help foster then please consider forwarding this e-mail on in the hope that we can find someone who is able to help. Alternatively, if you would like to donate to Niko’s surgery we would appreciate any help received.

About Guy Harvey:
Guy Harvey is a unique blend of artist, scientist, diver, angler, conservationist and explorer, fiercely devoted to his family and his love of the sea. His childhood passion for the ocean and its living creatures not only inspired him to draw, but fueled a burning interest that prompted a formal education in marine science. Having graduated with honors in Marine Biology from Aberdeen University in Scotland in 1977, Guy returned home to Jamaica to resume his education, earning his Ph.D. from the University of the West Indies in 1984. Though he gave up a budding career as a marine biologist for that of a highly acclaimed artist, Guy has continued his relentless pursuit to unravel the mysteries of the sea, traveling the world to better understand the habits and habitats of the marine wildlife he paints. For more information, please visit www.guyharvey.com.
About the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation:
The Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation (GHOF) conducts scientific research and hosts educational programs aimed at conserving the marine environment. Research includes pelagic fish tagging and tracking studies, reef fish census studies and lionfish eradication work. Educational efforts include student scholarships, hosting youth science and fishing camps, and creating documentary films and other educational materials. The GHOF will help ensure that future generations can enjoy and benefit from a naturally balanced ocean ecosystem where fish, and other marine wildlife, flourish.
