News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Tues. June 7, 2016: The Caribbean media fraternity is in mourning over the loss of three leading Caribbean journalists in a span of three days.

The Jamaica Gleaner suffered a major loss with the death on Saturday, June 4th of Glenroy Sinclair. The 49-year-old succumbed to illness over the weekend after he collapsed at work and was rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital.  Sinclair joined the Gleaner as a freelancer in 1986 and became a full-time employee seven years later. He is survived by a widow and three children.

On Monday, June 6th, Senior Gleaner Company writer Gary Spaulding, 52, was found dead at his home. Spaulding started off as a reporter at The Gleaner Company before moving to RJR Communications Group in 1997.  He began his second stint at The Gleaner Company in 2007.

And the Kaieteur News in Guyana lost their long-serving journalist also on Saturday, June 4th. Dale Andrews died Saturday morning after reportedly succumbing to heart and other complications at a city hospital. He was 45. Andrews began his journalism career at the now defunct Guyana Broadcasting Corporation and then left for the Kaieteur News in the early 2000s where he excelled in the area of crime and security reporting.
