Copa America Centenario to host Official Press Conference Friday June 24 in New York City ahead of historic final
CONMEBOL President Alejandro Dominguez, CONCACAF President Victor Montagliani and LOC Chairman Sunil Gulati to Speak ahead of Historic Final between Argentina and Chile at MetLife Stadium
NEW YORK (June 23, 2016) – Ahead of the 2016 Copa America Centenario Final on June 26 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., the Presidents of the participating confederations, Alejandro Dominguez of CONMEBOLandVictor Montagliani of CONCACAF, together with Local Organizing Committee Chairman and U.S. Soccer President Sunil Gulati will host a press conference tomorrow Friday, June 24 at the Westin New York at Times Square in Manhattan at 1 p.m. ET.
With nearly 1.5 million fans attending the 32 Copa America Centenario games across 10 venues in the United States throughout the month of June, the once-in-a-lifetime event became the most attended Copa America in its 100-year history, as well as the second highest-attended official single-game soccer tournament in the United States, only after the 1994 FIFA World Cup.
The Finals weekend, including the Third-Place Game between the United States and Colombia in Glendale, Ariz., on Saturday, June 25 at 8:00 p.m. ET, will be broadcast to more than 160 countries around the world. The Final will be played on Sunday, June 26 at MetLife Stadium, between Argentina and Chile at 8:00 p.m. ET. Immediately following the match, fans will be witness to the historic trophy ceremony and a closing performance by Pitbull and Becky G, who together perform the official tournament song, “Superstar.”
