Cayman Islands: West Bay officers render first aid to stabbing victim Saturday night, 20 August; Suspect arrested and charged

Just before midnight, on Saturday, 20 August, a man came to West Bay Police Station bleeding profusely from a wound to his left forearm. Officers on duty rendered emergency First Aid to the victim and called for emergency assistance. The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance.
In order to locate where the incident occurred, officers then followed the trail of blood from the station to a location on Neon Close, over three-quarters of a mile away, and preserved the scene. The road was then closed for approximately four hours while all evidence was collected and processed by SOCO.
Utilizing this evidence, detectives conducted enquiries and arrested a man, age 58, of West Bay yesterday on suspicion of Wounding. He was charged today, 22 August, with Wounding and Wounding with Intent, and will be in court tomorrow morning.
