Starbucks said on Monday that it is opening its first cafe on the island of Trinidad
On Monday, Starbucks Corporation (NASDAQ:SBUX) announced to launch its first café on the twin-island nation of Trinidad and Tobago, located in the north of South America’s northern coast, and famous for its luxurious rain forest and peach sand. This is the first time when the giant coffee retailer is stepping in this region, with a latest store in San Fernando on this Trinidad Island. This new outlet provides the locals and tourists in the region with a destination to chill out, relax, and connect.
Back in 2002, the US coffee chain launched its initial store in Puerto Rico’s Old San Juan and currently, it is present in five different Caribbean markets which includes Curacao, Aruba, and Bahamas.
Prestige Holdings Ltd., which is the top restaurant management company in Trinidad will fully possess and control coffee chain’s stores throughout the region. The company plans to open two more outlets this year. This launch of stores in Trinidad will be marked as Starbuck’s 74th global market.
Designers have created this foremost Starbucks outlet in Trinidad to display the company’s brand and praise the Trini people and their local culture. Artist Beverley Fitzwilliam Harries has created a huge painting just by using coffee pigment.
Starbucks vice president for Latin America and the Caribbean, Ricardo Rico, who attended the opening celebrations in San Fernando said in the press release: “We are delighted to open our first store in the beautiful country of Trinidad and Tobago, Our Starbucks partners wearing the iconic green apron are ready to welcome customers to Trinidad’s first Starbucks store and share our deep passion and knowledge of some of the finest coffees from around the world.”
The giant coffee retailer is also introducing a community service initiative along with local ‘Gifts for Life Foundation’ in order to help San Fernando’s Hope Centre Children’s Home. Earlier this month, Starbucks Trinidad partners also served the community at Hope Centre project. Starbucks Trinidad also plans to participate on some more events in the upcoming months.
