MIAMI, Fla. – September 30, 2016 – This October, HBO celebrates 25 years as the leading provider of premium content in Latin America and the Caribbean. To commemorate the milestone, HBO will offer a series of special programming events throughout the month including: the 25 Greatest Movies on HBO, the 25 Best Episodes from HBO original series, the 25 Best Episodes from HBO Latin America original series and a special Freeview of HBO’s Top 25 Series Pilots on HBO GO and HBO On Demand.

At the forefront of the television industry, HBO takes creative risks, developing original content that is relevant, bold and captivating, while exploring new formats and the realities of the region and fostering local talent. As the network that has produced some of the most acclaimed and influential series in television history, HBO continues to push the envelope every step of the way, leading the charge for the past 25 years and continuing to set the bar for the next quarter decade.

HBO begins the countdown with the 25 Greatest Movies that have aired on the channel. HBO2 will feature Oscar®-winning films from the past 25 years each day in October, including recent award winners such as Spotlight, Mad Max: Fury Road, Interstellar and Inside Out.

HBO’s own groundbreaking content will also be exhibited in two distinct lineups that showcase the provocative and distinct style that is uniquely HBO and has sealed its impact on popular culture for viewers everywhere. HBO Signature will feature the 25 Best Episodes of HBO Latin America Originals, including curated episodes of the popular original HBO series that captivated Latin American viewers across the region: Epitafios, Capadocia, Prófugos and Sr. Ávila. Each series will air five episodes per day, each weekday in October. In addition, HBO will host a marathon of the 25 Best Episodes of HBO Original Series, on October 30th and 31st, featuring the most popular episodes from acclaimed and fan-favorite series such as Game of Thrones, The Wire, The Sopranos, True Detective, Entourage and more.

The premium digital entertainment platform, HBO GO and HBO On Demand will also commemorate the anniversary with a special Freeview of the Top 25 Series Pilots for one week only, beginning October 21st. The freeview offers a selection of HBO’s original series’ premieres – complete, unedited episodes – available free for viewers across Latin America and the Caribbean who are not yet HBO subscribers, allowing them to be a part of the celebration of the most talked-about television programming in the last twenty-five years.
