Woman robbed in her own home
A woman woke up in the middle of the night to find three masked men in her house.
And when her husband confronted them one of the gang pulled a gun before fleeing with cash and electrical goods,
The robbery happened just before 3am Thursday morning at a house on Magellan Quay.
A spokesman for the RCIPS said: “A female occupant of the private residence discovered three masked men who were wearing gloves inside her residence.
“On hearing the commotion her partner attempted to assist and was confronted by one of the males who had a handgun.
“The culprits took electronic items and cash from the victims. No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.”
A police car heading to the incident was involved in a smash on Shedden Road.
The spokesman added: “A Police SUV responding to the Robbery at 2:52 am was also involved in a two vehicle accident in the vicinity of Jacques Scott on Shedden Road.
“Both vehicles received damages, but no injuries were involved. The driver of the civilian vehicle was arrested on Suspicion of DUI and later bailed. The circumstances surrounding the accident is also under investigation.”
