 UPDATE:

MVA on West Bay Road near Cemetery Beach This Morning, 8 November

 Just before 2AM this morning, 8 November, the 9-1-1 Communication Centre received a report of a single-vehicle accident on West Bay Road near Cemetery Beach in West Bay.

A Lincoln Town Car which appears to have been travelling at a high rate of speed collided with a cement CUC pole.

As a result of the collision West Bay Road at the site of the accident was closed and is anticipated to remain closed for the better part of the day, as the CUC conducts repairs.  Motorists may wish to use Cemetery Road as an alternate route.

A power outage in West Bay is also anticipated for the next 7-8 hours, per the CUC website.

The driver of the vehicle, a man, is in the hospital with serious injuries, but is conscious and responsive.

There may be possible traffic delays whilst police carry out investigations following a one vehicle motor collision in the vicinity of Cemetery Beach,West Bay Road,West Bay early this morning.

The driver is currently at George Town Hospital receiving treatment for serious injuries
