News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Weds. Jan. 25, 2017: Former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle are now vacationing on the private island of billionaire Sir Richard Branson in the BVI.
Reports indicate the Obamas are on Necker Island after being whisked there from California on Sir Richard’s private jet. The former US first couple reportedly touched down at the Terrance necker-islandB. Lettsome International Airport in the British Virgin Islands at 8:47 p.m. Monday, according to the Virgin Islands Daily News. They then reportedly made their way to Virgin Group founder Sir Richard Branson’s private island retreat by motorcade and boat.
Necker usually rents for $80,000 a night but it is unclear whether the Obamas are paying to stay on the island paradise. Here is a look inside the 34 room private island retreat from Virgin Limited Edition.
